Treasury - Wzgórze Lecha

The Museum of the Archdiocese of Gniezno situated on Lech Hill in Gniezno, next to the Cathedral, is the heir of the former cathedral treasury, which for centuries collected the most valuable material objects used for Divine Worship. They were founded on the occasion of important events or were simply the gifts of prominent personalities who visited this magnificent primate’s church in the past. Chalices, pyxes, monstrances, paxes, bishop’s rings, as well as paintings, countless sculptures and antique fabrics constitute the basis of the collection of the Museum in Gniezno.

We encourage you to go through the history of the Polish state by admiring the collections of the Museum of the Archdiocese of Gniezno. It is worth finding out more about the history of your own nation at its source, in such an extraordinary place which has often witnessed epoch-making events. We present exhibits collected over the centuries, which are part of the heritage of our country, and tell more about its past than many school textbooks.

The Museum of the Archdiocese of Gniezno – you are cordially welcome.
